Proud Expressions Exhibition

Visit the "Proud Expressions" touring public art exhibition and workshops honouring the nation's heroes. Showcasing artworks especially commissioned by artists, members of the public and students from schools and universities in response to the Proud Expressions Open Call, the exhibition will be on display at:

Yas Mall, Pearl Court, Abu Dhabi, from April 27 to May 6
Dubai Mall, Grand Atrium, Dubai from May 8-15
Al Hamra Mall, Main Atrium, Ras Al Khaimah from May 17-24

Proud Expressions is a key initiative of “The UAE Remembers” campaign that was launched by the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court to pay a fitting tribute to the brave heroes of the UAE who paid the ultimate sacrifice in their duty in serving the nation.

Proud Expressions is an art initiative developed in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and it consists of two public engagement programmes across the UAE; a contribution of artworks in several mediums by the general public and a schools and universities programme targeting students.

The works portray a shared sense of pride and appreciation for the sacrifices made by the heroes in defending their beloved country and its accomplishments.

The Martyrs' Families' Affairs Office (MFAO) was established at the mandate and vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and by the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to oversee the affairs of the martyrs’ families and children and to provide them with all the necessary support in co-ordination with other authorities. The MFAO is also responsible for the martyrs memorial “Wahat Al Karama”, a national landmark and a place where citizens, residents and visitors to the UAE can pay homage to those who selflessly gave their life to a cause greater than themselves.
