How to apply for a Hotel Management License (hotels, hotel apartments and resorts)


Conditions required for applying for a Hotel Management License (hotels, hotel apartments and resorts)

Required documents:

A TCA Abu Dhabi Tourism License application form should be completed.(the form can be downloaded online).
•A copy of owner(s) passport, family book (for UAE Nationals) and National Identity Card, in the event that the owner is an entity (Establishment or Company) attach a copy of valid trade license.
•Establishment contract of company (articles of incorporation) certified by the Notary Public and published by the Ministry of Economy (in case of companies).
•A copy of the lease contract, (valid for a minimum of 3 months) certified by the Municipality and the location cannot be used for another license.
•Attach a detailed feasibility study of the project.
•A copy of the General Manager's CV* (attached copy of education and experience), passport and National Identity Card.
•A copy of the Financial Manager and a Legal Consultant CV’s (attached copy of education and experience), passport and National Identity Card.
•Signboard design approved by the Department of Economic Development (language 50% in Arabic and 50% in English).
•A copy of the authorised signatory along with a copy of their passport.
•The person concerned should sign the undertaking letter to observe and comply with TCA Abu Dhabi licensing requirements.
Requirements of other government entity:
•A Department of Economic Development certificate allocating a trade name to the establishment.
•A “No-objection” letter from The Centre of Waste Management Abu Dhabi.
•Certificate of Security and Safety from Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate.
•Publishing Editor of the Ministry of the Economy (in case of companies).
•Preliminary approval from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs of the foreign partner.

Fees:

2500 AED for each activity

* Minimum Requirements:
•Five years of work in the hospitality field, including 3 years as manager of the property for those holding a master's degree in the hospitality field
•Ten years of work in the hospitality field, including 4 years as a manager in the property for those holding a university qualification
•Ten years of work in the hospitality field, including 7 years as a manager in the property for those not holding a university degree.

In case there is no in-house Financial Manager and Legal Counsel, proof of an external outsource contract with a legal advisor and a licensed account auditor should be submitted.
